Impact statements

2022 - Letter from the president

Building Bridges LRC is a beacon of hope and change for our community. Since our inception in August 2021, we have made a profound impact, far beyond our wildest dreams, thanks to the unwavering dedication of our volunteers. With our impact report covering the last 16 months, we are proud to share our accomplishments.

We kicked off our journey with a spectacular Watermelon outreach event, where we fed and ministered to over 200 individuals. Since then, we have served over 2000 meals, provided crucial support in the form of sleeping bags, winter coats, blankets, tents, clothing items, hygiene packages, and Bibles to those in need. During weather emergencies, we even provided 37 motel rooms to ensure that the homeless have a safe place to stay. Our efforts have also helped 12 individuals secure employment and provided one of our gentlemen with a vehicle to get to and from work.

Our mission is to not just meet the physical needs of the homeless, but also provide them with a solid biblical foundation as they work towards a better future. That’s why we offer weekly Discipleship classes, which now see 10-20 attendees each week. As we move into 2023, we’re excited to expand our reach even further. With plans to enlarge our Discipleship program, purchase a minibus to accommodate growth, and launch re-entry, computer, and life skills classes, we’re poised to make a bigger impact.

This year, we’re also planning 6 outreaches and ramping up our efforts to reach the tent camps in the area and identify the specific needs of those living there. Our Golf Tournament fundraiser and ongoing work at AT&T Stadium are expected to further boost our efforts. To date, we’ve clocked 863 man hours ministering to the physical and spiritual needs of our community, and we’re committed to increasing our impact in every area of ministry.

Join us as we grow and make a difference in our community. We cannot do this alone, and we need your support. God bless, and thank you for serving.

A Message from our President

On June 3rd of 2021 I felt compelled to walk into a homeless camp, and minister the gospel of Jesus Christ.

I soon realized that it was hard to get the attention of someone who was hungry from having a lack of food. So, I went into a store and purchased some sandwiches and came back and began sharing again.

It became very clear to me that God was calling me into a ministry to the homeless. I began stopping at the camp once or twice a week, and it quickly developed a bond of trust with my new friends that lived there…but it just wasn’t adequate.

I realized that sharing the gospel and then leaving them in their degradation was not sufficient. There had to be a plan for real change. It was then, I believe the Lord gave me the vision for BUILDING BRIDGES LRC.

I immediately put together a plan to effectively disciple people and assist them as they re-enter society. Since the inception, God has put together a great team of leaders to assist me, as we hope to change lives one soul at a time.

To date we have organized several events, provided food, clothing, hygiene supplies and provided sleeping bags to hundreds of our friends without homes. We have developed meaningful relationships within this community. We have begun mentoring some individuals and we provide a weekly Bible study at our home church specifically for the homeless.

Our vision, is to eventually open a discipleship home where we can genuinely house those who really want to change while we design a path for them to successfully re-enter society. We cannot accomplish this without YOU.

Please join with BUILDING BRIDGES LRC in “changing lives one soul at a time”

Thank you for your support!!
